Jeff aka JJ

Jeff Johnston will soon open Playa del Carmen’s best beach bar near Calle 2 and the beach in Playa del Carmen, only a couple blocks south of where he and his band, The Nasty Bastards, have been playing for the last five years. Jeff, known to most in Playa as JJ, moved to Playa del Carmen in 2006. Formerly a commercial real estate developer, he renewed his interests in music after retiring in Mexico. Jeff is a music promoter, writes music, plays keyboard and is the lead vocalist with the Nasty Bastards Band.

JJ will open the Wah Wah Beach Bar in early 2012. Be sure to come by the Wah Wah Beach Bar and enjoy great food and drinks and of course great music.

Currently, we are shooting for the last week of January 2012. HOWEVER…..we have been thrown more curve balls than have every been pitched in major league baseball. The delays will continue to mount up and the best we can do is persevere. As one can imagine, we want to take advantage of as much high season business as possible…..especially in our first year. I can tell you that the great ideas just keep on coming from all our friends. All input is greatly appreciated! Our goal is to make this place very special for anyone who walks in the door. Wait a minute….being an open air beach bar…there is no door.  Anyway, great food, drink, service, music, and prices is our aim. Lots of interesting surprises are already planned and I think we all are going to have a lot of fun!
